Kameko’s teachings reflect her love, curiosity and dedication to yoga, movement, self-care, activism and the natural world.

Teaching style: Her delicious vinyasa classes, rooted in the Krishnamacharya tradition of vinyasa krama invite you to come deeply into your breath and body through: thoughtful sequencing, moderate pace, challenging asanas, traditional philosophy, pranayama, bandhas, chants and the occasional swear word for a refreshingly honest experience. She weaves her knowledge of ayurveda, anatomy, tantra, classical texts, sanskrit, circus arts and passion for social justice and snark into her classes to provide insight and relief for the challenges of modern life. Kameko has also studied restorative and hatha styles of yoga.

Teachers: Her focus on the traditional elements of Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra are informed by her numerous studies in India and Nepal, including the “vinyasa krama” system at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. She has been fortunate enough to have more than 3,000 hours training with master teachers including: Dr. Vasant Lad, Swami Santhiprasad, Dr. Rucha Kelkhar, DeAnna Batdorff, Ana Forrest, Mary Paffard, Vickie Russell Bell (restorative), Rod Stryker, Mark Whitwell and longtime teacher, Alice Joanou.  In late 2020 she is anticipating completing an MA in Ayurveda from Mount Madonna Institute. She is also deeply inspired by aerial acrobatics, 5 rhythms dance, Vipassana Meditation, Indigenous Lakota Ceremonies, primitive skills, Vedic Chanting, ecological and social justice, herbal medicine and spices of all kinds. When not dangling in the air from aerial ropes, surfing in the sea, studying on the mat,, she can be found napping with her dog-child, Peka.
